Compaq windows 7 32bit Laptop no network adapters found

Hi There
I am in desperate need of assistance as my laptop cant connect to internet or wireless due to network adapter that can't be found in the computer.
Tried to install ethernet driver but keep sending back the message "no intel r adapter found in this computer" Please help
