Compaq Presario V6000 with T2060 CPU - what can I upgrade it to?

I'm still using the Presario V6000 that I bought several years back and am wondering if I can and if it is worthwhile to upgrade the CPU. I am not well-versed in CPU specs. Would a T7200 work with my system (part number EZ855AV)? Would it be worth the $30 or so to buy one on eBay? Is there a different CPU that you recommend? I don't use my laptop as a powerhouse machine, but I do more than just browse the web on it.

Thanks.

CPU is not upgradeable on a laptop unless you are prepared to pay serious money to have a laptop technician do it for you. The CPU is soldered to the circuit board and requires skilled knowledge to remove & fit a new one without damaging the board.

That's why it pays to buy a laptop with the most powerful CPU you can afford, even if you don't need that much performance at the time.
Oh, I had come across a posting today stating that this line of laptops has removable CPUs. I know that I shouldn't believe everything that I read....
You can remove the CPU on this laptop.

It appears that the T7200 would work however to be certain you may wish to contact the manufacturer who should be able to confirm this.

You would also need to make sure that your PC is using the latest BIOS version from the manufacturer.
