hi i have a compaq presario c542ea and currently it has 1gb (2 x 512mb ) and i want to upgrade to 2gb ( 2 x 1gb ) of ram but i don't know what will fit can sumbody help me please

Look to the links in my signature and download CPU-Z, run it and it will tell you what memory your laptop has, then go to crucial's website and use their memory advisor to find compatable modules.

ye i used tht program befor and it told me the ram was 266mhz which i am almost certain it isnt i think it is 533mhz but i arnt 100%
