Compaq 610 Laptop Won't Turn On: Troubleshooting Blinking Lights & Fan Issues

My Compaq 610 laptop will not turn on and the ac plug in light blinks 6 yellow blinks then 1 blue and then 1white . the fan comes on and then goes off what could i do to fix this and what do the lights mean

They say your User Guide should have that info - however, they also say this -> "This message indicates that the AC adapter does not have enough power to use your notebook PC. The battery light may blink rapidly 8 times and the battery icon in the system tray indicates that the notebook PC is operating on battery power."

Obviously, if you aren't booting, you won't see any messages BUT the lights may still blink.

So, I guess your battery is dead and the charger isn't charging it.

It saying that it does not have enough power to to use the laptop might mean that you're using an incorrect/aftermarket AC adapter. If this is the case, you might need to get a Compaq adapter meant for your laptop. If not, you might have to get a new power adapter anyway, since the one you have is likely fried.
