i am having major drama with my desk top comp( iam on my laptop) my comp keeps hanging on the windows starting screen, its not frozen as the windows icon is still moving..
i am not sure how to get to safe mode on the comp as f8 doesnt work. have all my stuff backed up on an external hardrive so if i need to reformat it is not a prob.
so any help with these things will be greatly appreciated.
the os is win7 x64
nividia gt8500 gc
2gb ram
80gb hd
i have just had mother board replaced so am not sure wat it is

If not was a repair install of windows made?

not sure i have taken my comp back to the fellow who installed new motherboard.

Just curious...do you have a program called "Speedfan" installed? If so, that's likely what's causing it.

Figure out how to boot in Safe Mode, and tell us which item the system hangs on. It's usually a .sys file.

Not much we can do for you unless you figure out how to boot in Safe Mode. It might be that you're not pressing the keys quickly enough. Try all the F-Keys. Dunno other than that.

Oh, also, you might need to enter the BIOS and enable "USB Keyboard Support" if you're using a USB keyboard, as that might be why the keys aren't working for you.

Other than that, I can't help ya. Oh, and if and when you boot into Safe Mode, choose the one that does NOT have networking.
