Please bare with me as I am a new user learning Linux. What I would like to do is setting up both machines so they can communicate with other. Can someone help me out on what I need to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Can you be more specific? By communicating, do you mean sharing files or printers ect? Or do you mean network connectivity such as the 2 pinging each other?
You'll want to look at using samba http://www.samba.org the site has plenty of documentation to get you up and running, you might already have the package installed, or if not I'm sure you can find one at www.rpmfind.net .. let us know how it goes!
