I received this error when I turned on my computer this morning. I pushed F1 to continue, and everything seemed fine. Does anyone know what this error means, and what I should do if I get it again? Thanks.

PS I noticed that the date on my computer reverted to 1/1/05.

almost every time this means your battery is going just like cjessee said. Often times if the computer is without power for a while, its nothing really serious, and won't seriously affect the operation of your computer.

If you look in your case, it looks like a watch battery, make sure it is secure. If it is in place and secure, it might be time to buy a new battery, just make sure it's the same kind.

There will be unique, identifing information scribed onto the surface of the battery, such as "JS-6". This identifies the battery size & voltage, etc... It doesn't matter which brand.

You might also try clearing the CMOS using the jumper on the motherboard, and see if that doesn't fix something.
