I want to use a product to store my data encrypted in the cloud. I found a free product on line called CloudShield EncryptSync.

http://http://www.cloudshieldencrypt.com

It seemed like the perfect solution to my needs.

I then found the attached article from the Washington Post that suggests CloudShield Technologies is a US Government defense contractor that specialises in implanting malicious software via Google and Microsoft products.

Does anyone have any experience of this product or on this technology in general? Unfortunately I have download the application, although I have not started using it to send sensitive files.

I have not heard of that before, but cloud based storage should already be encrypted from attackers. Although, the cloud storage provider may have access to those files.

If you need to store very sensitive documents, why not do a local solution?

It is concerning my laptop needed an upgrade to Adobe Flash soon after accessing and downloading the Cloud Shield application. If the article in the Washington Post in true then the vulnerability would come through Flash. I think I will rebuild my laptop just to be safe.:hide:
