If you open Notepad and click Paste, does the bank statement appear?

Unless I'm using a very old clipboard (I've got Windows ME) I think it can only store one Copy To Clipboard at a time, so if you close down the program or copy anything else, it will be deleted or overwritten.

Hope this link helps from "Where's the Clipboard Viewer in Windows XP?"

Windows clipboard works exactly the same as the copy/paste function. You can only copy one* item at a time to the clipboard, each new copied item removes the previous. If you want to keep the stuff you copy you can paste it into notepad[or whatever you use] and save it. If you haven't copied anything else since the one you are looking for you could right click and paste to notepad and read/save it there but if you have shut down the computer without saving it then its lost.
Hope that helps.

*You can get software that allows you to copy multiple items.

edit: just noticed the previous reply. Oh well never mind.
