As well as the can or compressed air, an artists paintbrush - approx 1/2" wide with medium stiff bristles, will help to dislodge the dust bunnies that have dug their claws in.
When cleaning the fan-blades, a drinking-straw is handy to hold the blades still, while brushing/air-blowing them.
Although it's a tempting idea, don't use a vacuum-cleaner to suck the dust out, the rapidly-moving/dry air can build up a nasty static charge on the plastic nozzle and zap sensitive components, if it gets too close.
Good luck
