OK, I've been itching to play a city management game now. Which one would you recommend, out of these two? What are the pros and cons of each game? I don't care about social things, I just want a purely technical planning game. Thanks.

Technical planning game - go with SimCity 4.
Otherwise wait for CitiesXL to come out. Looks like it will be quite good.

I love where CitiesXL is going with the transportation system. I'm always fascinated with a city's transportation system.
