choppy graphics

I am working on a Dell OptiPlex G1 computer, and I can't seem to get the graphics to clear up on it... A standard pci graphics adapter vga is installed, I'm sure there is some sort of other graphics card installed... However, I don't know how to tell what kind. Is there a tip to finding out what kind without taking off the case again? I just installed a new modem in this machine....This is a machine I'm trying to setup for a client...
Just so you know, everything is spotty when I try to use the internet.

Should I start checking out alternate video cards?

While I wait for a reply, I'm going to see what comes standard with the Dell OptiPlex.

Look on the back of the case, and you'll find the Dell SERVICE TAG. It should be 5 characters (alpha-numeric).

Go to support.dell.com, click on HOME ... then input that service tag number where prompted. This will give you all the info on your machine as it was shipped, and links to drivers for the same.

Hope this helps.
