So the case is: half an hour ago I turned on my computer and chkdsk starts running. Then is runs through some files in G: and it finds some sort of error in G:/music. Then it prompts: "Convert into folder (Y/N)?" and it automatically chooses yes, I did not touch my keyboard.
The G: is a My Book Home external hard drive from Western Digital. I am running the hard drive through eSATA. I am also running Vista 64x
This disk check has happened before, but it did not convert 300 GBs of music into a single 32kB file then. I do not have any backup of the music on my computer, because that was why i bought the hard drive.
So, is there any way I can get my files back? And how can I prevent anything similar to happen in the future?
Any help appreciated!
