Hi all, would someone be able to help with this please..

We are using Sharepoint purely as an Intranet and the current address is http://currentserver

I would like this changing to http://INTRANET

I have tried a couple of things..

In Central Administration>Operations>Alternate Access Mappings

I've renamed http://currentserver to be http://INTRANET which didn't work (Internet Explorer Cannot Display Page)

I've then added an Internal URL of http://INTRANET which works but as soon as you enter that address it takes you to http://currentserver

Everything works fine but I would really like the address at the top of Internet Explorer to read http://INTRANET

Does something need changing in IIS or anywhere else?

Thanks
John

Glad you got it working but I think you could have just added a DNS entry so Intranet points to the same place as currentserver

Granted, i'm no sharepoint expert though

Hi Tomshawk, a DNS entry was what I tried originally and it took me to our Intranet but the search function wouldn't work this way so didn't turn out to be a good option!
