Whats the best way to change IP addresses? I'm on Cable internet (wireless through netgear router).

Is the easiest way just to call my ISP?

Thank you for your help

Hello and welcome to Tsf!

Ok Using your Internet Type this into your address bar

192.168.1.1

A login box should appear. Don't put anything in for the user, and password admin

Find the "Mac Address Clone" Tab

Wait till the page loads and click save changes.

2nd thing!

Unplug your router and go to 192.168.1.1

go to mac address clone

On the end of the serial number remove the last 2 letters and type in ab

and save changes!

The first one works for me but i'm not sure it will work on you if it don't work just try the 2nd solution

One wonders why you feel it necessary to change your IP address...
It isn't for a bad reason at all.
if you are running an FTP server or hosting a website, then you can change your IP address.
Actually, running an FTP server or WEB server will have no bearing on the ability to change your public IP address. It's going to be driven by a combination of the ISP, the broadband modem, and possibly the attached device MAC address.
Well aparently I don't need to, called my ISP today and they said there was nothing they could do and I have nothing to worry about, guess you were right johnwill.
