Changes to controlset in registry

Hello everyone!

I need to know how to add print forms to a local print server without using the standard winspool.drv functions. The reason for this is that my program is being developed in LabVIEW 8.2 and cannot use the structure data types used by Windows. I know that forms are saved in the regestry at HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Forms. Unfortunately, after I add a new value for the form, it does not show up for any of the printers nor does it show up in the print server properties. Only after Windows is restarted will the new form be applied. If this is the only alternative to using the winspool.drv functions... how can I get the system to apply my changes without a restart?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi LV-Vikingr

. . . and Welcome to the Tech Support Forums!

I wish I had an answer for you, but I never did program much. However, I'm pretty good with search engines & lucky with puzzles - so, here's where I'd look next (if I were you)

Try one of the programming/developer forums here at TSF, such as

http://www.techsupportforum.com/f167/

Try one of the programming/developer forums dedicated to LabVIEW 8x projects, such as

http://www.eng-tips.com/threadminder.cfm?pid=1106

Best of luck in your project
