Most any drive IDE drive will work if you get the jumpers set correctly, and have the other drive on the same ribbon cable configured correctly, plus have each the proper place on the ribbon cable.
Thank you , I'm new to this terminology, I have a laptop , and the cd drive now is a toshiba, are you saying that as long as the new dvdrw/cdrw says it is a ide drive I will be ok to change out if I hook up properly?
