Hi I am a little older than most on her I am guessing. I am 54 and have my A+ cert and run a computer repair business in Arizona.
I am wondering what cert would be good to go for next, as far as possibly looking now for employment with a company.
I am not expecting salaries out the roof not that just want advice from the working class techs what would be the best path after the A+ to make me more employable.

thanks
Ron

I would look at the Microsoft Certifications like many have advised me to do. It also depends on which route you are wanting to take either Technical Support or Networking? From what it sounds like since you run your own computer repair shop, you are more on the technical support side of things.

Any of the certifications that are listed here in this link would be good for someone to get:

http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/cert-windowsclient.aspx

These are all certifications based on the Windows XP, Vista, and 7 operating Systems. You can either go for the Admin path or the Desktop Support path. It really depends. I personally have not taken any of these, but I am going to start with Windows 7 first since it is the OS that many people are upgrading too, then I will go to Vista, and then XP. I hear for the XP certification you have to have experience before you take these tests.
