Hey, guys. I've been experiencing a small problem recently:

When I go to open Chrome, GIMP (image editor), or any other non-native program to Windows, they don't always boot up. The blue loading ring appears above my cursor for a few moments, then promptly disappears - no programs display no matter how long I wait.

And they show up on the Task Manager, too! Only for the brief time the loading cursor is there, but still. Why is this? Windows-related programs work fine regardless, such as Paint, Notepad, etc.

I have to reset my computer numerous times in order for the other applications to work. It's annoying, and I doubt it does anything beneficial to my computer's health.

If anyone can help, that would be appreciated.

I'm thinking you have a virus of some kind or you have some intense processes running. Try to track down that intense process in Task Manager, and do some maintenance with CCleaner and Glary Utilities. These free programs will fix registry errors and clean caches and temporary internet files. If this doesn't work, keep asking, something is bound to turn up.
