Is it true that the fan underneath the laptop will only function when the computer reach a certain temperature??

I feel my laptop getting hot but the fan still doesn't move. How can i test if my fan is still functional??

One more thing, I have a built-in infrared in my laptop. I installed the driver and 'the device is working properly'. However it doesn't detect my handphone when I put it in front of the device?

Do I need to do some setting for the infrared?? :grin:

Can't tell you much about the fan, but to conserve battery, the Centrino may only run it when needed??

As for the IR, go to the Control Panel, Wireless Link, select the Image Transfer tab and uncheck the box that says "Use Wireless Link to transfer imapges from a digital camera to your computer". Make sure you then click on Apply before you
click on OK.

See if this sorts your IR issue.

Run a diagnostic in BIOS. It will check any and all fans you have to see if they are functioning. You will actually be able to hear them start up as the test is being peformed.
