my CDROM drive stopped reading disks recently, and when i went to find the problem, (control panel>clicked on my PC>selected CDROM drive from list of hardware) the driver status said
'A driver (service) for this device has been disabled. An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. (Code 32)'
I tried to enable the driver, but it appeared to be enabled already. please help!

Uninstall the drive in Device manager and reboot usually works for me.
MS says- Uninstall the driver, and then click Scan for hardware changes to reinstall or upgrade the driver.
