ok this is odd, I was installing something off a cd in my cd-r rw drive and all of a sudden during installation a bluescreen comes up saying something about windows protection error, system halted. so I reboot the machine and now windows refuses to see that my cd rw exists. ive tried having it detect it, and ive tried unplugging it, booting up shut down then plugging it back in. ive also tried having the bios detect it.

The computer is a comcrap (compaq). and its wierd because it wont even open up or anything, so any ideas?

Well, clearly you can open the computer, the trick is finding out the secret handshake.
