Typically those events mean your device is about to fail....and they usually do when you get these error messages. Double check that the power and data cables are on secure. If that fails, check to see if the cd drive mfg has any new firmware updates for the unit and flash it, otherwise you will most likely be in the market for a new cd drive shortly.
cd rom will burn but wont read
After reinstalling windows, I have not been able to read my cd's (photos etc)
The discs work on other drives so it must be my drive that has a problem.
After looking in Computer Management/System I found warnings and errors as follows:
1. Warning cdrom (event 51)
2. Error atapi (event 9)
Could someone smarter than me please help me
