Hi, I have a Acer TravelMate 4501LCi Notebook!

My problem is that unkown disks dont seem to be read correctly! When i say unkown disks i mean ones that have not been installed or dvds! Disks which software has been installed (e.g. games) work fine and the computer has no problems in reading these disks! Im really stumped and was woundering if you could help me please!

Are you trying to copy data/burn music files? Does the disk auto eject when you place it in the tray? Try to be a little more specific to your problem.

Sorry! I cant read any type of disk unless it has already been installed!

im not trying to burn a disk or copy data!

When a disk is placed in the tray its trys to read it, it doesnt auto eject! In my computer under the E drive!

It goes from saying (regardless of what disk it is):

DVD/CD-RW drive (E

to saying

CD drive (E


Doesnt say the name of the disk, like most do!

Is that any more help? I also scaned for a updated drivers and it says i have the most updated aswel.
