Hi. I have a problem with Windows XP failing to recognize new CDs placed in the cd-rom drive. On a fresh boot, I can put a CD in my drive and it recognizes it fine, but when I take that disc out and put a different disc in the same drive, it keeps showing the name and contents of the old disc, even though it's not in the drive. I have to reboot to be able to access a different CD.I'm trying to install a game, and I can't because of this. My computer has been fine up until tonight. I have two drives, and they both do the same thing. Anyone have any ideas?

The drives are:

Plextor DVDR PX-708A
Samsung CDRW/DVD SM-352B

the autoboot is probably disabled. you can check in the registry. click on start>run
in the run dialogue type
regedit
then expand the hives to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\Cdrom
rightclick on
Autorun
if the data value is set to 0 then it is disabled, so change it to 1. then reboot and see does that fix the problem.
