I recently received a CD for a PC game. When I went to install, however, my CD drive did not open. I checked to see if it was detected, and sure enough, it was. After manually opening it, I noticed that none of the motors in it were running. When I put the disk in and closed it, nothing happened. I cannot seek help from any of the Microsoft sites as nothing has been released by them to support Windows 10.

I have tried:
-Cleaning the drive with air duster.
-Uninstalling the driver and rebooting.
-Updating the drivers.
-Taking the drive out of my PC (No noticeable damage whatsoever) and putting it back in.

I have tried looking this problem up, but a lot of people with this problem aren't receiving the "This device is working properly" message.

This problem has never occurred until now, even last week the drive worked perfectly. I have been searching for solutions for several hours, and would really appreciate any help. Thanks!

Go to Start/Search and type devmgmt.msc, right click the devmgmt results and Run As Administrator. In the Elevated Device Manager, are there any devices with yellow flags? Is there a DVD/CDROM drives listing? If you expand it, is your drive listed? if so, the Drive should be working if not and you have Yellow Flags, try the Microsoft FixIt: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/314060. Try another disc, If that doesn't work and no discs will work in the drive, then it needs to be replaced.
