Hi, I have an IBM Thinkpad 600E, running win 98se, and the CDROM has disappeared off the drive list. In Device Manager, I have a couple of conflicts - the Intel 82731AB/EB PCI Bus Master IDE Controller has a resource conflict (Code 15) and there is an Unknown Device which keeps appearing on boot up. The drivers for whatever it is cannot be found, and of course I cant put the WIN98SE disk in to help it out! The CDROM is a removable Toshiba XM-1902B, which goes in the removable media bay and I havent been able to find specific drivers for this on the net.
This all happened after I installed my Handy Steno 2.0 USB 512MB drivers so I could transfer some data. Immediately I noticed some conflicts in device manager, and the CDROM disappeared when I tried to resolve them. The thinkpad isnt connected to the net, and doesnt have a floppy drive, so I need that CDROM!!
