Hello all,
I recently installed a cd-burner in my wifes computer and after I booted the pc back up the drive letters were backwards. The burner is showing as E drive and the regular dvd rom is as F.I opened up the computer again to make sure the jumper settings were right and they appear to be.I am out of ideas and any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.I also am getting conflicts with the recording media(NERO,CDR WIN).The OS is Win XP pro and it is a P4 1.6 on an Intel MB.Thanks all...............

De7x,

Go to control panel, then administrative tools, then disk management. Right click the drive you want to change and click on change drive letter and path. There you could put in any letter you want. Hope this helps.

i think another way to change drive letter is using a program like Partition Magic, which can also automatically change all references to the new configuration. i.e., if you change C to D it will fix registry references to match.
