Are you using the XP write files to disc or are you using a program such
as NERO?

Make sure the CD's that you are writing to are CDRW's or CDR's and are
appropriate for your writer speeds (8x, 12x--52x). Often, I have run
into problems after buying a pack of disc's that are for high write speeds
when I had a relatively low write speed. It even says on the disc/package
for high speed only.

How old is the CD drive and what is the write speed, is it (8x, 12x, 52x)?

It could need a cleaning also- you can get inexpensive cleaners at
just about any store that sells computer stuff.

So- check the above and let us know. We'll take it from there.
