I have CCleaner on my PC, and I just want to knoe what are the best things to choose to get cleaned on my PC for better performance, I don't want to just clean out anything I don't knoe about and mess up the system, if anyone knoes just ket me knoe.

I have a guide on what should be ticked and what shouldn't be:


For the following picutres make sure anything with a RED arrow is unticked and anything with a BLUE arrow is ticked as well as any other items shown in the picture.

Now click on the Applications tab:

In the bottom of the program click on Analyze. After that is finished you will see a list of what files will be deleted. Once finished click on Run Cleaner

After the Analyze button:

Once finished it will show you how much data has been removed. You can now close out of the program.


Do not use CCleaner's Registry Cleaner as it could cause harm to the computer!

If you have Mozilla Thunderbird™ as your email client (like I do), you will need to make a couple of extra adjustments in Ccleaner; the screenshot below hightlights them:...

It used to infuriate me when the Preview Pane was always open, and when Thunderbird™ was opened it showed the email account name; not the Inbox.
By unchecking all boxes apart from the two highlighted in my screenshot, this anomily will not occur.
As medab1 mentioned; I too use Ccleaner every day just before shutdown.

I would say you could do it once a month.

I do mine every day.

You can always change the settings from CC cleaner
