I have a 3com CBL/DSL Gateway Router that was purchased about 2-3 years ago, recently I've been having to power down and restart it due to loss or slow connection. I'm wondering if it's gone bad. It's always on along with the modem...Or could it have something to do with static IP address?? Perhaps some tweaking. Problem I have is that 3com seems to have either gone out of business or merged with another. Don't know where to look. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I downloaded some firmware updates this morning and I'm going to install them to see if this remedies my problem. I did not check any logs, but if updating doesn't work I will. Thanx for the response.:D

This "may" have been a USR product. 3-COM merged with USR a few years ago, and about a year or so back, they un-merged again. USR is an independent company again. I had a problem with a modem that was labeled 3-COM, but when the smoke finally settled, it was actually replaced by USR...
