Card not installing!!!

Hi,
I have a D-Link DWL-G510 PCI WiFi Card and want to use it for my Nintendo Wii and DS but it's just so hard to set up. I obtained a copy of PCTel Segue SoftAP so that I could use the card as an Access Point for my Wii/DS but it just won't install, it keeps saying that a compatible card is not in the system. I am pretty sure this card is compatible as it's the Rev. B of the card which is Atheros and PCTel Segue SoftAP is supposed to support all atheros cards. Also, in the device manager (this is windows btw), after installing the card with either the windows drivers or the CD drivers the card's name is D-Link 'card name' #X - the X is usually a different number, at the moment it's a 5 so I'm thinking that the card has been installed more than once and that's whats causing the problem, if it is how do i get rid of it and how do I get the SoftAP to detect my card? What steps do I take, ie what order do I install the drivers, software, etc in?

-Thanks for the Help

Try completely uninstalling every instance of the adapter before installing again. Also try using the latest drivers from the D-Link website, which you can find here. See if this helps.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times, however at the end of the device name it always says #X where X is a number, at the moment it's 5. I tried safe mode to delete duplicates but I found none. I have also installed the latest D-Link drivers but still not luck.
