Is it true that a car starter can die at any time? Does age of car or any other factors involved cause it to die? Thanks

Yes its true a car starter can die at any time, like all things mechanical they are exposed to the elements and wear out over time. The main cause of starter break downs is overheating. Drivers have a tendency to hold the ignition key in the start position attempting to fire a dead engine by spinning it over an over until the battery dies.
