is there a way to capture the directory contents into a text or html file in winxp? i figure cuz the gui is generally html based, the files should be already made somewhere dynamically or something.

basically i wanna take a huge amnt of files and make a list out of em, but i have 3 main lists. 2 are just a directory full of a few diff file extensions, but none are directorys. the other list is a directory full of about 50 subdirectories, some of which have subdirectories in themselves. i just need the list of the 50 original subdirectories.

how can i do this?

For a list of just the directories:
from a cmd prompt in the main directory (the 1 containing the 50 sub-directories) type dir /ad /b>list.txt, this will output the listing to the .txt file
For a list of all the files and directories omit the /ad parameter.
