I installed the Web Server IIS role on my server. I needed to uninstall it and went through the usual Remove Roles and Features from the Server Manager menu. I tried several times and it continues to fail with with the message, "One or more predeployment tasks failed." See the attached snippet. Thanks for any assistance.

If the IIS role is still present, try an 'iisreset' from CMD, restart the server and try removing the role again.

If you still run into an error, paste the last event from eventlog that talks about the error.

Thanks, guys, for your help. It seems the answer was from SpywareDr to edit the local group policy and enable Allow Remote Shell Access. However, after enabling and doing a gpupdate /force, I tried again only to receive the same message from the server manager GUI. Then, I tried using a Powershell command,

Uninstall-WindowsFeature -Remove Web-Server

and that successfully removed the IIS role. Funny how that works.
