I recieved an attach that is an XLS file. I have tried opening it with with all available associations that I can create. What program do I need to open this type of file? Winword is as close as I have gotten, it says I need another CD or Disc to open it.?

The file you are dealing with was most likely made with Microsoft Excel (spreadsheet program). If you have excel and clicking the file does nothing, try getting into excel first and opening the file using file>open.

If you don't have Excel, Microsoft has a free viewer for download that will allow you to open the file and read it. Also, you can download OpenOffice, a free office suite that is compatible with Microsoft DOC and XLS files, and will even allow you to update and create them.
