So I can got a virus and it continue to screw up my computer so I reformatted and now after reformatting I cant multitask anymore. I used to be able to have world of warcraft run in the background as i played call of duty and now I cant. Any suggestions?

Did you reinstall the right version of Windows? 32-bit or 64-bit

Also, does it give an error or the other program just doesn't open?

Third, is it just for these two games (little bit harder for a computer to run two games...) or with any program (your internet browser and let's say Microsoft word or something...)

ive only tryed these two. basic programs like word and ie i can but im not sure why i cant run wow in the background while playing cod anymore

What happens when I try to run both is my computer makes a noise as though it just shut off and then after 5 or so seconds it freezes and I have to reboot

what version of windows 7 did you install? x86 (32-bit) or x64(64-bit), also how much RAM do you have, for that matter please list system specs.

2gb ddr2 ram
core duo 2.9ghz processor

I am surprised you could run those 2 applications together on those specs previously.

Make sure that your system is not running any unecessary software (manufacturer's software for instance).
