No options without the disk. You will have to replace the drive, or get an external one.
cant log on..Windows expired.. Help
Ok so I acquired 3 HP pavillion 3100's, cool.
got them home and 2 work but say that i have 12 days to activate them..and one was alreay expired.
So its now 12 days later and I cant log on to any of the computers. I have a copy of windows xp that I was going to try to put on them (reformatting) BUT......the drives wont read burnt CD's is there any other way that I can wipe them out??
I have a laptop that doesnt have a floppy drive.
the HP's are runing XP home.
I didnt pay anything for the computers, but id hate to think that they ight become really big paper weights.

thats what I was afraid of. I have the original XP disk but i dont have the activaction code.
I tried switching Cd drives it worked but the Hp wouldnt show the drive in My Computer.... so I have to install drivers for the new CD drive
