I am using a zotac 6100-be with phenom II x2 245. I was able to use an old cd drive to install windows xp on this system and it is running fine, however when i try to install windows 7 or vista, after loading files it will hang for about 30 mins and return a bad driver error. ive tried to use the 6150se/ nforce 430 driver via a usb stick and it says that the driver wont work. what can i do?

Any help i can get on this plz?
There shouldn't be any issues with a clean install of Win7
If you're attempting to upgrade from WinXP then you'll face a lot of problems.

Let Win7 wipe the hard drive and install Win7 fresh (without any trace of XP).
Use the Zotac support page to get the Win7 drivers: http://www.zotacusa.com/zotac-gf6100-b-e-am2-am2-nvidia-geforce-6100-micro-atx-amd-motherboard.html
yea im attempting a clean install. im using the drivers from the zotac website but i cant even get to the point to choose where to install windows 7. i get only to the install now button. then hangs and asks for a cd/dvd driver, when i try to add the video driver from zotac it fails. might it be the dvd drive? both it and the video device are working fine in xp and ive used the dvd drive with vista previously. i also tried to include the ide/sata driver from usb but returned as no new driver found.
I would think that there's an issue either with your driver - or with the controller on the motherboard.

Try installing from a USB stick: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/dd535816.aspx
