Hey I've tried everything I can think of any more and i still can't fix this. I installed Crysis the otherday however, i couldnt connect to any multiplayer games it wouldnt connect to the server. Its bundled with gamespy comrade and this wouldnt connect to its server either. I then uninstalled Crysis and installed F.E.A.R. Combat multiplyer i also couldnt connect to the server with this, it is bundled with gamespy arcade which i also couldnt connect. I then thought to try to log into xfire which i knew worked, this also failed and couldnt connect to the server. I then thought it could be something to do with me installing XP SP3 so i uninstalled this and tried again still nothing. For each of the above i disabled my zonealarm firewall, windows one is always disabled, and fowarded all the necessary ports on my netgear gd834gt router. Still couldnt conect. I rang my ISP and they said everything was fine with the connection, I can still browse the internet. However, when i tried to install a firmware update for my router when i tried to right click --> save link as it said it could not connect to the server. I then borrowed a laptop downloaded the file and installed it onto my computer. I dont think it has anything to do with the router because he could connect to te Crysis server through my wireless. I've downloaded winsockxpfix to try to sort it out and TCPoptimizer to try and sort my connection out but still no luck. I cant think of anything else but to either uninstall my netgear wificard and reset my internet connection or if its somethign more serious then that reinstall windows

which i really dont want to do. Any help would be a godsend. Thank you
I've tried connecting my computer directly to my router via ethernet cable but it made no difference i could still connect to the internet but could not connect to servers.
