I've only had cable for a few days now and it's been working perfectly. outta no where I get this limited or no connectivity for my Local Area connection. what does this mean?? could it be a temporary thing where it does this sometimes or not?

Hard to say. Does the cable modem indicate it's connected? If so, how about doing this:

Open a DOS window and type:

IPCONFIG /ALL >C:\RESULT.TXT

Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.

try this

go to the start button, then Run

Type cmd in the line then hit enter.

A black box will pop up.

At the command prompt type ipconfig /release then hit enter

then at the command prompt type ipconfig /renew

It should give you an ip address

You might want to reset your cable modem too.
