So last night i started getting popups for windows security. The spyware ones that want you to pay for fixes.

It was one where anytime you tried to open any program it would block it saying it was infected. I couldn't ctrl alt delete or even turn the computer off. So i held the power off to turn it off.

Now i cant boot into the OS. I cant run safe mode because i cant even get to the screen to do that. After the post messages it just hangs on a black screen.

This is a vista 64bit home. Ive used the vista disk and it finds no errors starting up, system restores haven't fixed it. All i can do is go to bios and choose what to boot off of.

I'm typing this off the Asus splashtop so if any of you have ideas for this.

When you boot from the installation CD and click Repair your computer, does your Windows partition show up?

i got it fixed.

My bootmgr was deleted from the malware.

Ran some cmds in cmdprompt on the cd.
