Can't activate XP on this laptop..

727 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Wrench97
Hello, I recently purchased an Everex- Stepnote 1510. Since then I have discovered that the Operating system (Windows XP) wasn't activated on the system. Now the sticker that has the activation code is on the bottom of the laptop, however, XP says it is in-correct. Windows is now not working as I wasn't able to activate it within the time-frame required.

After doing some more research on this I have found that Everex isn't around any longer, so I can't go to the manufacturer. Does anyone have any ideas/Suggestions/Help of any kind for this problem? :4-dontkno

I don't have any of the disks for this machine, indeed, the guy I bought it from told me many things that proved to be lies...:4-thatsba

Help is appreciated, and thanks for your time!

You should be able to use any Windows XP OEM CD to repair
You need the same version that was originally installed, I.E. XP Home 32 bit SP2, or XP Pro SP1, if the version or Service Pack is different from the sticker it will not activate because it's counterfeit installation.
