I think I got attacked by a virus, I can't access some folders on my hard drive, I cant even delete them, they are just there occupying my hard drive space.... Is it an Operating System Error or I got attacked by a virus..?

Pls help I can't afford to format my hard drive now! ! !

What anti-virus program are you using??? Do you use some kind of spyware protection software like AdAware 2007 or Spybot - Search & Destroy???
Install one of these programs, update last definition and scan your PC... Also install some anti-virus program like NOD32 or kaspersky or Panda [they are all quite helpful]....
But I must warn you that none of anti-virus software is not quite the best one... So prepare to back up data and do a fresh install of XP...

no problem mate, but I am telling you that you never are totally protected. Viruses always could harm your system in many different ways...
So you must be careful where are you surfing and stuff like that [never open unkown mail and things similar with that]...
Just now I have one PC here on maintenance and I tried to clean it up but no luck, so I must do a clean installation...
Always be careful and make sure you do backup quite often...
