Well, folks, I had to get one anyway, because my old Epson C82 had clogged up totally, and was not responding to 'treatment'!
The Canon first page out time is not brilliant, but acceptable - c.10 secs before it starts printing. I'm generally very pleased with it, esp. the duplex printing and the second paper tray, which saves a lot of time - both things normally only found in Laer printers.
Only thing against it so far is that the ink smudges quite badly if you get it wet. In that respect, the Epson was far superior - it dried instantly and was virtually waterproof. It also was better on bog standard paper - but then it tended to clog rather often - I guess you can't have it both ways!
