Hello guys,

I am currently using a Win2k Pro SP1 PC and I tried to apply the patch upgrade from SP1 to Sp3 and I keep getting the following error message :

Service Pack 3 Set up Error: An error in updating your system has occurred.

Now I can only manage to upgrade from SP1 to SP2 and then apply the MS Security patch to against the W32. Blaster.Worm.

Anyhow, please kindly tell me what should I do.

If that's the only error you're getting, it's pretty difficult to know what's going on. I'd suggest a couple of things.

- Download a fresh copy of SP3 and try again.
- Download SP4 and try that, since it includes everything in SP3.
- Try running SP4 from the WindowsUpdate site.

Before trying any of these options, I'd suggest you have a good backup of your current setup, preferrably with an image utility like GHOST. Makes for easy recovery if something goes wrong! :D

FWIW, if you have a firewall blocking NETBIOS requests, you won't get infected with the worm, even without the patch.
