Hi: I have a PC with Windows XP as my OS. I am unable to stay logged in to commonly used websites (i.e., Facebook, Netflix, Google mail, etc.). Rebooting my PC appears to delete any saved log-ins. In addition, I am unable to retain a history of visited URLs in my URL window. I have checked my settings in Internet Options and everything seems to be set properly. This problem began occuring after having removed some malware from my system (see the thread at: http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f50/hijacked-browser-683440.html). After validating that no malware was the source of my problem, it was suggested I visit this site for help and suggestions.

Thanks in advance for anything you can do for me!

You didn't mention what browser you are using? In IE, go to Tools/Internet Options/Browsing History/Delete. Put a check in the Box Preserve Favorites website data then click cancel. Now go to the Advanced Tab and Uncheck Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser page is closed.

You are welcome! Please mark this thread Solved in the Thread Tools at the top.
Well, a day later, I would like to mark this thread solved, but I am still having problems. URLs I directly type into my IE8 browser window do not stay there once I turn off the computer. Also, some sites (such as this one and Google mail) retain my log-in information, but other sites (such as Facebook and Netflix) do not. I have made sure I checked the "keep me logged in" box (or similar check box) whenever I have logged into these sites.

Any ideas?
