I recently gave my old HP Deskjet 400 to a friend. He is having a problem that has me completely confused. He owns a Compaq Presario 5070 and runs AOL 7.0. The printer works perfectly except that he cannot print anything online: web pages, emails, etc. I made sure that he has the most recent drivers for the printer but can't think of anything else. Aol techs couldn't help, either. As i do not use Aol, I'm at a loss to what setting he should check. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I tried to convince him to drop AOL, but to avail. By the way, the printer works fine online and off with my PC.

Dalix, how difficult would it be to temporarily set up your internet connection on his machine and then try printing? It could be something about AOL that it doesn't like.

It would be fairly simple to set my up my account on his PC. I was just wondering if anyone had seen this before or knew AOL, which I don't. I figured that it had to be AOL 'cos the printer works fine as long as he is offline or at least printing something from his HD. Thanks for the tip. I'll give a try.
