Hello techsupportforum,

I am having problems trying to install new software or uninstall old. This is what happens:

I go to add/remove programs in control panel,
click on install,
it does something for a few seconds,
the blue bar starts creeping left to right,
and then...
nothing!
wait... wait... wait...
still nothing!
check if it's crashed...
no! still running.

The same thing happens when installing as well.

I don't know what could be causing this, can any one here help?
Even a little clue to point me in the right direction?

Oh well, as this problem is terminal I guess I'll have to re-install XP.
