I have been trying to download an exe file of a trial software but it will not download successfully. The download link was provided from an email sent to me. I have also requested the CD and the company sent it to me, but again, the software refuses to install on my computer.

Any suggestions? Could it be my browser settings? Administration privileges? If so, how do I fix the problem?

Will probably need more info, but is the program XP compatible? Are you getting any message as to why install won't work? Are you the Admin? Does the company have a website with support?

I know it works with all Microsoft platforms (dos through 7). I just want to know what are possible reasons creating this issue - no download of exe files AND no CD installation. The technical support stated that both downloads are fine. No corruption. They gave me little response other than that. If you could give me a rundown of basic solutions, that would be good place to start, since I may have to figure this out on my own. And, yes, I have admin rights with all privileges. I double checked in my user accounts just now.

Try doing it from the Control Panel>Add/Install.
